Makinde, APM Challenge Alleged ₦200m Campaign Signage Fee in Abia

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Allied Peoples Movement have filed a suit against the Abia State Government, Governor Alex Otti and other defendants over an alleged ₦200 million fee for presidential campaign materials in the state. The plaintiffs argue that the fee violates the Constitution and the Electoral Act. They want the court to void the regulation and stop officials from enforcing the charge or removing campaign billboards. The Makinde/Daura campaign organisation has also announced town hall meetings across the six geopolitical zones ahead of the 2027 election. Meanwhile, the Oyo APC has alleged that Makinde is using his presidential ambition to evade corruption-related allegations, a claim the party made without evidence in the report.
