Ben Murray-Bruce Urges Tinubu to Appoint Bold Leaders for Oil Production and Refineries
I support this administration and want it to succeed, but support should not mean silence. Nigeria needs bold public officials who will challenge entrenched interests, reject mediocrity and focus on measurable results. I commend the renewed focus at the Central Bank and in the national security architecture. However, I argue that Nigeria needs the same urgency in the petroleum sector, especially in restoring the Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries to commercially viable operation. I urge the President to appoint capable leaders with clear targets, deadlines and the authority to tackle oil theft, bureaucratic delays, low production and underperforming refineries. Nigeria should pursue higher crude production, meet local fuel needs and become a major exporter of refined petroleum products.
