Wike Denies Taking FCT Loans Without National Assembly Approval

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed Senator Ireti Kingibe’s allegation that he secured loans for Abuja projects without approval from the National Assembly. Speaking after inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja, Wike said any proposed borrowing would be included in the FCT budget and would require legislative approval. He questioned how a government official could lawfully obtain a loan outside that process. Wike also argued that the focus should be whether funds are being used to improve infrastructure and serve FCT residents. He said the senator’s allegations followed visible progress on projects across the territory.
