NNPP Says It Will Adopt a Presidential Candidate for 2027 Election

The New Nigeria Peoples Party says it will soon announce the presidential candidate it plans to adopt for the 2027 election. The party’s founder, Boniface Aniebonam, said leadership disputes and prolonged litigation previously affected its ability to field a strong presidential contender. He said the party would not repeat what he described as mistakes made during the 2023 election. Aniebonam said party leaders would meet to conclude the adoption process. He added that members, maritime practitioners, shippers and other stakeholders would be consulted, while the NNPP would continue to contest other elective positions nationwide.
