Army Rescues 14 Kidnap Victims on Lagos-Benin Expressway in Edo
Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 4 Brigade have rescued 14 people abducted by suspected kidnappers on the Lagos-Benin Expressway in Edo State. The abduction reportedly occurred on Thursday night in Ovia North-East Local Government Area. Acting on intelligence, troops involved in Operation WABAIZIGAN pursued the kidnappers, forcing them to abandon 11 victims. A follow-up forest clearance operation on Friday led to the rescue of the remaining three victims. The Army said all 14 victims were medically examined, found stable and reunited with their families. Security operatives are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the fleeing suspects.
