Troops Foil Armed Robbery at Plateau Pastor’s Home; Daughter Injured
Troops from Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace intercepted an attempted armed robbery at the home of Pastor Inyam Inyam in Hwol Buju, Bassa LGA, Plateau State. The attackers abandoned their mission and fled when security forces responded to reports of gunshots in the early hours of Tuesday, June 9. Pastor Inyam and his daughter, Hannatu, suffered injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Mista-Ali. A spent 7.62mm special ammunition casing was recovered at the scene. Medical examinations later confirmed that Hannatu endured sexual assault during the attack. Military authorities have launched a full investigation and intensified follow-up operations to apprehend the suspects. Residents are urged to share any credible information that could help security forces secure arrests and prevent similar crimes.
