Ebonyi Commissioner Accused of Abducting and Assaulting Man Over Political Video
Ebonyi Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Business Development, Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali, has been accused of ordering the abduction and assault of a young man, Madu, over his political views. Madu alleged that four men forced him into a vehicle and took him to the commissioner’s private residence after he refused to follow them. He claimed that the commissioner confronted him over a video in which he expressed support for the commissioner’s brother, Rollins, who is seeking a State House of Assembly seat. The alleged victim said he was beaten, kicked and stomped on during the encounter. A former student union leader who shared videos of Madu receiving treatment said he had been moved to safety. The commissioner had not responded to requests for comment at the time of the report.
