Olu of Warri Challenges Asari Dokubo to Prove ₦2.7tn Pipeline Contract Claim
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has rejected claims by former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo that he receives ₦2.7 trillion yearly from pipeline surveillance contracts. In a statement issued through his representative to NNPC Limited and its joint-venture partners, the monarch challenged Dokubo to present documentary proof for the allegation. The statement said allegations involving pipeline surveillance contracts require credible evidence because of the sector’s strategic importance and the public interest surrounding it. It added that Dokubo’s past activism should neither automatically discredit his claims nor make them believable without proof.
