Armed Attack Disrupts APC House of Reps Primary in Akungba
Tension flared in Ward 12, Akungba in Akoko South West LGA of Ondo State during the APC House of Representatives primary. Eyewitnesses say armed men stormed the venue. They fired shots into the air and wielded cutlasses, axes, bottles and canes. Several party members, including Hon. Sunday Odunayo Solomon, Mr. Tanimawo Oluwatomipe and Mr. Olorunwa Talabi, were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Sources named Mr. Akindipe Bodunde and Mr. Adeniyi Bolaji as leaders of the attackers. Allegations have also been made against two serving and former lawmakers but no official statement has been released. Security agencies are yet to respond, and residents are calling for a full investigation.
