Charcoal Sparks Early Morning Blaze in Kwara, Destroys Residential Flats
A fire broke out around 12:38 am on Sunday at a residential building on Tewo-Gbore Street in the Eyenkorin area of Asa LGA, Kwara State. The blaze gutted parts of a room-and-parlour self-contained apartment and a two-bedroom flat. Firefighters from the Kwara State Fire Service responded swiftly and prevented the flames from spreading to nearby houses. Their timely intervention limited the damage and saved an adjoining building. Preliminary investigations blamed improperly quenched charcoal stored at the property. The Fire Service has warned charcoal dealers and residents to handle and store combustible materials carefully and to report any fire outbreak immediately.
