Power Disruptions Hit Five States as FG Cites Gas Shortages and Maintenance Issues

Electricity supply has worsened in Lagos, Abuja, Ogun, Kwara and Oyo. Power Minister Joseph Tegbe said the disruptions were linked to gas shortages at thermal plants, lower hydropower output, and maintenance and operational issues. He said assessments had not found a major or systemic national grid failure, and that the government was working with power agencies and distribution companies to restore supply.
