Two Mexicans and Four Nigerians Remanded Over Alleged Drug Lab
A Federal High Court in Ibadan has ordered the remand of two Mexican nationals and four Nigerians at Agodi Correctional Centre over alleged drug trafficking and the operation of an illegal drug laboratory. The defendants pleaded not guilty to charges including conspiracy, manufacturing, transporting and distributing drugs, and possessing chemicals. The allegations have not been proven in court. The NDLEA alleged that the group operated across Lagos and Oyo states and was involved in producing 1.26 kilograms of methamphetamine. The alleged offences were said to have occurred between December 2025 and June 2026. The court ordered the prosecution to serve its evidence on the defence and adjourned the case to November 26–29 for the trial to begin. A lawyer for one defendant told the court that his client has diabetes and that he would make an application concerning the place of remand.
