Are Married Men Turning to Minibus Driving as Businesses Struggle?

I have noticed that many men are closing their shops or struggling businesses and turning to minibus driving to support their families. Most of them are married men with young children. I know people who have shut down their businesses and started driving minibuses. Some mechanics are even planning to buy minibuses to work with in the evenings. I recently saw someone I knew in this situation. He was surprised to see me, but I simply greeted him and did not ask questions. It made me wonder whether minibus driving has become the last option for many married men trying to survive. I also know someone with a Sienna who uses it for interstate transport just two or three times a week. Is this becoming a common coping strategy for family men in Nigeria?

Are others seeing this around them too, or is minibus driving simply more visible than other ways struggling business owners are adapting?

Could visibility be making minibus driving seem like the main fallback, while other hustles stay less noticeable?

It may be too early to call it a broad trend from a few examples; some men may be driving minibuses for reasons beyond failed businesses.

Whatever the reason, driving can provide immediate cash flow. Anyone switching should still track fuel, repairs, daily targets, and family expenses carefully.
