Why I Am Rethinking My Support for Peter Obi
Lately, I have been questioning whether Peter Obi shows the toughness needed to lead Nigeria. His calm and gentlemanly approach is admirable, but I believe presidential politics in Nigeria demands a more forceful strategy. In my view, he has not challenged President Tinubu and the APC strongly enough over issues such as governance, alleged corruption and poor economic management. I also worry about divisions within his party, especially when party leaders publicly criticise the Obidient movement. If he cannot assert control within his party, I wonder how he would handle bigger national security and political challenges. Many supporters are willing to mobilise for him, but I feel he has allowed too many issues to pass without a strong response. If Peter Obi is not fully determined to pursue the presidency, I do not think supporters should be expected to make extreme sacrifices for him.
