Mutfwang Promises 800 Forest Guards, Plans Return of Displaced Plateau Residents
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang says his administration will intensify security operations and work towards returning displaced residents to their ancestral communities. He said a new batch of retrained Operation Rainbow operatives will be commissioned next week, while at least 800 trained forest guards are expected to be deployed within four weeks. Speaking in Jos during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Council for the 2027 elections, Mutfwang said Plateau would not surrender any part of its territory to insecurity. He also urged residents to remain patient as the government pursues lasting peace. The governor called on APC members to mobilise peacefully for the 2027 polls and declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
