Niger Mosque Abduction: Terrorists Yet to Contact Families Six Days After Borgu Attack
The Niger State Government says it has not been contacted by terrorists who abducted worshippers during Friday prayers in Borgu Local Government Area on August 21. Gunmen attacked the Kpenya Mosque in Gidan-Zana, Kpenya village, as well as two other locations in the area. The attackers are suspected to be members of the Lakurawa group and Boko Haram. The Commissioner for Information, Obed Nuhu, said the government is still verifying the number of people abducted and will not release figures until it has confirmed details.
