Wike Says IBB Golf Club Will Reopen in December After Rehabilitation
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the rehabilitated IBB Golf and Country Club in Maitama, Abuja, will reopen to the public in December 2026. Wike gave the update after inspecting ongoing projects, including the Life Camp–Dape Collector Road CO1 and Arterial Road N1 linking Wuye District to Ring Road II. Both road projects are also expected to be completed by December. He said the golf club was closed following an internal crisis among members. A caretaker committee was appointed to oversee the facility, while Julius Berger was contracted to carry out the rehabilitation. Wike said the club should be able to generate funds for its operations after reopening. The minister also dismissed concerns about opposition reactions to President Tinubu's meeting with Osun Governor-elect Ademola Adeleke, arguing that the coalition supporting the President would grow ahead of the 2027 election.
