Nigerian Army Seals IPOB/ESN Hideouts in Enugu, Seizes IED and ₦2 Million Ransom
Troops under Operation Eastern Sanity have stepped up offensives across the South-East. On April 14, joint forces from Sector 1 and the air component of Operation Udo Ka launched a precision clearance in Ajali Forest, Enugu State, overrunning IPOB/ESN positions and forcing militants to abandon an anti-tank IED. Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams safely neutralised the device. Soldiers then demolished insurgent hideouts with chainsaws and bulldozers, stripping militants of cover and scattering remaining fighters. In a related raid at Adani, Uzo-Uwani LGA, troops acting on Service intelligence intercepted a kidnapping ring. They arrested a suspect and recovered a pump-action rifle alongside two million naira believed to be ransom funds. The Army handed the suspect and evidence to authorities and reaffirmed its commitment to rooting out criminal and insurgent elements. Citizens are urged to continue supporting efforts to restore lasting peace across the South-East.
