GIW Commends EFCC, Cites 10,872 Convictions Under Olukoyede

Global Integrity Watch has commended the EFCC’s anti-corruption campaign and expressed confidence in its chairman, Ola Olukoyede. The group said it wants to work with the commission on lawful initiatives that promote transparency, accountability and protection of public resources. The organisation cited EFCC figures showing 10,872 convictions between October 2023 and July 2026. It also referenced reported recoveries of about ₦1.234 trillion and $684.48 million between October 2023 and June 2026. GIW said recognition of the commission’s achievements should be matched with public scrutiny, due process and respect for individual rights. It urged citizens, whistleblowers and public institutions to use lawful channels, proper records and Freedom of Information requests to support accountability.
