Labour Party Says Arabambi Is Not a Member, Alleges Impersonation in Obi Records Suit
The Labour Party says Abayomi Arabambi is no longer a member of the party and is not authorised to present himself as one in his court action over Peter Obi’s academic records. Arabambi reportedly sued WAEC, the NYSC and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, seeking the release of records linked to Obi, who is now the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate. The party said Arabambi was suspended over alleged anti-party activities in March 2026 and that the decision was ratified at its national convention in April. It said its lawyers are considering possible legal steps over what it described as alleged impersonation. Labour Party added that its statement does not address the merits of Arabambi’s claims before the court.
