INEC Register: North-West Leads With 25.1m Voters as South-East Records 12m Ahead of 2027
INEC’s 2026 voter register puts Nigeria’s total registered voters at 103,428,715, nearly 10 million higher than the figure used for the 2023 general elections. The North-West has the largest voting bloc with 25,083,411 voters, or 24.25% of the register. The South-West follows with 19,614,274 voters. Together, both zones account for more than 43% of registered voters nationwide. The South-East has the lowest zonal total at 11,976,218. Lagos has the highest number of registered voters at 7.49 million, followed by Kano with 6.57 million and Kaduna with 4.66 million. Voters aged 18 to 49 make up more than 73% of the register, while male voters account for 51.75% and female voters 48.25%.
