Umuahia Premier Club President Accuses Rep Obi Aguocha of Abandonment

Umuahia Premier Club’s branch president, Ako Obioma, has accused Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South lawmaker Obi Aguocha of abandoning the club and failing to acknowledge support received during the 2023 election. In a circulating statement, Obioma claimed he helped Aguocha secure the Labour Party ticket after the lawmaker lost out in the PDP. He also alleged that Aguocha has rarely attended club meetings or paid dues since becoming a member of the National Assembly. Obioma rejected claims that the club formally endorsed Aguocha for a second term, saying the group only has a tradition of supporting its members. Aguocha had not responded to the allegations as of the time of reporting.
