Police Arrest Security Guard Over Alleged Sexual Assault of 8-Year-Old Girl in Calabar

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old security guard over the alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl along Tinapa Road in Calabar. Police said the child’s mother reported the incident on August 29, 2026. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly lured the girl to his residence with a promise of money before committing the alleged offence. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Police said the child has been issued a medical form for examination and treatment, while assuring the public that due process will be followed.
