Kaduna Man Arrested Over Alleged Death of Girlfriend After Dispute
The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested Manaseh Bitrus Jatau over the death of his girlfriend, 35-year-old Rebecca Ojonike Jeremiah. Police said her body was found along Mai Angwa Street in the Romi area on September 5, with cotton wool reportedly stuffed in her nose. She was taken to St. Gerald Hospital in Kakuri, where a doctor confirmed her death. Her body has been deposited in the mortuary for an autopsy. Investigators said the suspect was the last person known to have asked her to meet him at Ebano Joint in Romi. He was later arrested at his workplace in the Maraban Jos area. Police said the suspect allegedly admitted that they fought over a phone call from another woman and that he disposed of her body in an open field. The case is under investigation and will be taken to court after investigations are concluded.
