Troops Neutralise 40 Terror Suspects, Foil Borno Road Attack and Recover Weapons
The Nigerian Army says troops neutralised 40 suspected terrorists, foiled attacks and recovered weapons during operations conducted nationwide between August 21 and 22. In Borno State, five suspected JAS fighters surrendered to Operation HADIN KAI troops in Bama, handing over ammunition. Troops also repelled an attack on commuters along the Gajiram–Mairari Road in Nganzai after gunmen fired at a truck. Military aircraft reportedly carried out precision strikes that killed 38 suspected terrorists in separate locations in Borno. In Anambra, Operation UDO KA troops killed one suspected IPOB/ESN operative in Ogbaru and recovered pump-action guns, motorcycles and suspected explosive-making materials.
