Ijebu Youths Urged to Prioritise Enterprise and Skills Beyond State-Creation Push
Former House of Representatives member Babatunde Adejare has urged Ijebu youths to pursue entrepreneurship, innovation and vocational skills while discussions continue on the proposed Ijebu/Remo state. Speaking through former Ogun lawmaker Solomon Osho at the Ijebu Youth Summit 2026, Adejare said the region’s commercial heritage, proximity to Lagos, agricultural resources, industrial estates and transport links could support job creation and investment. He said young people should not define success only by salaried jobs. He also called for dialogue over the proposed state’s name, boundaries, capital and political representation, arguing that improved living standards and economic opportunities should take priority over nomenclature.
