Forest Hideout in Plateau Raided: Hostage Rescued, ₦8m Ransom Seized
Security agencies in Qua’an Pan LGA of Plateau State have dismantled a kidnapping ring. Two suspects were arrested and ₦8 million ransom recovered. A woman abducted after her father was killed has been freed from a forest hideout. Intelligence-led operations tracked suspects Waltu Watter and Sale Mamma. They are accused of ambushing Alhaji Saidu Mamma, killing him and demanding ransom for his daughter. The full ransom sum was retrieved and will be returned to the bereaved family. Local council chairman Christopher Audu Manship praised the joint security effort. He vowed that Qua’an Pan will not be used as a criminal haven and pledged tighter surveillance along border communities. In a separate operation, security personnel stormed Pandam Game Reserve in Nasarawa State. They rescued another kidnap victim, Mrs Gambo Bello, after a week in captivity. The success reflects improved collaboration among security agencies.
