Edo LG Chairman Threatens to Bar Drivers Wearing Opposition Party Caps
The chairman of Esan West Local Government Council in Edo State has threatened to stop commercial drivers from operating at motor parks if they wear caps or other materials linked to opposition parties. Speaking to drivers at Onitsha Park in Ekpoma, he said only All Progressives Congress materials should be displayed in the park. A video of the address shows him describing the directive as a standing order. He said the instruction was connected to Governor Monday Okpebholo’s pledge to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. He also distributed APC-branded caps to drivers and urged them to support the party.
