FBI Seeks 75-Year-Old Woman Over Alleged $30 Million Bank Fraud
The FBI has added Mary Carole McDonnell, 75, to its Most Wanted Fraudsters list over allegations that she defrauded banks and other financial institutions of nearly $30 million. Investigators allege that McDonnell posed as an heiress to a secret $80 million trust linked to the McDonnell Aircraft family. The alleged scheme operated in California between July 2017 and May 2018. The FBI says she allegedly obtained $14.7 million from Banc of California and caused further losses of more than $15 million at other institutions. A federal arrest warrant was issued in December 2018 on charges of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Authorities believe McDonnell may be in Dubai and are offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to her arrest and conviction.
