Operation FANSAN YAMMA Frees 31 Kidnap Victims, Neutralises Terrorists in Zamfara and Katsina
Troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 31 hostages who had been held for weeks in enclaves near Bagega Forest in Anka LGA, Zamfara State. A precision air strike by the Air Component was followed by a ground assault that destroyed several terrorist camps and recovered weapons, motorcycles and ammunition. The freed victims, originally from Maga, Gummi, Zuru, Wasugu, Bukuyyum and Anka communities, received medical attention and are set to reunite with their families. In another Zamfara operation, soldiers engaged terrorists along the Maradun–Gidan Dan Jaja axis, neutralising two fighters and dismantling more hideouts. Meanwhile in Katsina State, troops intercepted militants at the Ruwan Godiya and Sayaya Road in Matazu LGA before they could launch an attack. After a fierce gun battle, three terrorists were killed and their arms and bikes recovered. The operation highlights the army’s resolve to secure Nigeria’s North West region.
