Ex-Kaduna Chief of Staff Says El-Rufai Did Not Build Political Structure Alone
Former Kaduna State Chief of Staff Bashir Saidu says Nasir El-Rufai still owes recognition to associates who helped build the political network that brought him to power. In an interview with RFI Hausa, Saidu rejected claims that he and other former allies abandoned El-Rufai. He said they had been active in politics since the SDP era and made major sacrifices for their shared political cause. Saidu said he spent time in detention and prison during their political struggles. He added that disagreements over political succession and a feeling that associates were no longer valued led to the breakdown of their alliance.
