Troops Clear Azuge and Hari Bandit Camps in Bauchi Forest, Capture 19 Family Members
Nigerian troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade, working with the Office of the National Security Adviser, have cleared several bandit camps in the Dajin Madam Forest of Bauchi State. The offensive targeted the notorious Azuge and Hari enclaves and resulted in the neutralization of many bandits while others fled. During the operation, soldiers took into custody six women and 13 children linked to the criminal groups. They also destroyed several motorcycles and recovered an AK-47 magazine, packs of tramadol, police and military uniforms, and two horses used in criminal activities and impersonation. Troops are holding positions in the forest to prevent bandit re-infiltration. A follow-up sweep in Mainamaji after recent air strikes recorded no contact, indicating a further decline in bandit presence. The army says it will sustain pressure until lasting peace returns and urges locals to share credible intelligence.
