Gunmen Storm NIPSS Kuru, Kill Three Security Officers
Three security officers were killed in a pre-dawn attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State. The Plateau Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement, calling it unfortunate. Spokesperson SP Alfred Alabo said the assailants struck in the early hours of Tuesday. The victims were on duty when the gunmen opened fire. Plateau’s Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, has ordered extra patrols and deployed more personnel around the institute. Authorities say the situation is now under control and normal activities have resumed. An investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the attackers. Residents and institute members have been urged to cooperate with security agencies.
