Ondo Police Arrest Four Over Viral Assault and Cyberbullying of Man Accused of POS Fraud
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four people over the alleged assault, public humiliation and cyberbullying of a resident, Temidayo Boluwaji. The attack was said to have happened on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after he was accused of making a fake transfer to a POS operator, and the incident was later recorded and shared on social media. Police said the victim reported the matter at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Following a discreet investigation, operatives arrested Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba and Fasusi Bunmi, who were alleged to have taken part in the assault and circulation of the video. The command condemned jungle justice, public humiliation and the online spread of defamatory or malicious footage. It warned that suspicion does not amount to guilt, and urged residents to report alleged offenders to the police instead of taking the law into their own hands.
