Court-Supervised DNA Samples Collected From Mohbad and Son Liam
DNA samples were collected from the remains of late Nigerian singer Mohbad and his son, Liam, in a court-supervised exercise in Lagos on Saturday, October 31. The test follows an application by Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, to establish Liam’s paternity; the year of the collection date was not stated in the report. Samples were taken from Mohbad’s remains at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba and transported under security to the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, where Liam’s samples were also collected. A court-appointed welfare officer oversaw the process. Mohbad’s parents, brother and widow were reportedly present. The paternity dispute began after his death in September 2023, when his father questioned whether Liam was his biological son and called for a DNA test.
