Oborevwori Urges Tinubu, Army to Site 83 Division Headquarters in Delta

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Army to locate the headquarters of the newly created 83 Division in Delta State. He said Delta’s central position within the division’s proposed area of responsibility, covering Delta, Edo and Bayelsa, would improve military response times. He also cited the state’s oil and gas assets, airports and seaports as critical infrastructure requiring stronger protection. The Army said the 83 Division is part of an expansion from eight to 12 divisions. Delta is expected to retain existing formations and receive additional units, including a field artillery regiment and an air defence regiment.
