Insecurity Displaces 95% of Lata Nna Residents, Community Appeals to Tinubu

Leaders of Lata Nna in Patigi LGA, Kwara State, say almost 95% of residents have fled after relentless bandit attacks. They report scores killed, families displaced and farming activities crippled. In an open letter to President Tinubu, signed by the Lata Nna Youth Association, community representatives detail two years of kidnappings, extortion and deadly raids. They recall the August ambush that killed 65 local hunters and list recent attacks in April, June and July that left villagers dead, robbed and traumatised. The community warns that the only access road has become a “death trap.” They urge urgent deployment of security personnel, restoration of mobile networks, establishment of a healthcare facility and delivery of relief to displaced families. They stress that without immediate government action at federal, state and local levels, Lata Nna could be wiped off the map and plead for rescue before more lives and livelihoods are lost.
