Anambra Obidient Movement Seeks Probe After Peter Obi Convoy Blockade in Benue

The Anambra State Obidient Movement has called for an investigation after Peter Obi’s convoy was reportedly blocked by youths on Gboko Road in Makurdi, Benue State, while he was travelling to Yelwata to commiserate with communities affected by violence. Police confirmed that the convoy was obstructed and said the motive was still under investigation. Videos from the scene showed a crowd on the road, with some people reportedly shouting that they did not want Obi. The movement urged the Federal Government, security agencies and INEC to protect all candidates ahead of the 2027 elections. It said political disagreements should be resolved through democratic engagement, not intimidation, obstruction or violence.
