Presidency Says Tinubu’s Reforms Are Improving Business Confidence

The Presidency has urged critics of President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms to speak directly with businesses and ordinary Nigerians before concluding that the policies have worsened living conditions. A presidential aide, Dr Nafia Abdullahi, said the reforms were restoring confidence in the business environment, particularly through improved foreign exchange conditions. She acknowledged that adapting to the changes had been difficult for many Nigerians. Speaking at the opening of Makib Estilo in Abuja, Abdullahi said the business grew from a small fashion shop into a larger outlet selling fabrics, kitchenware, interior products and other lifestyle items. The company’s founder also said lower exchange-rate pressures had helped the import-dependent business source goods more easily. The Minister of Women Affairs added that the Federal Government was supporting small businesses through intervention funds, single-digit loans and business formalisation initiatives.
