Former Ondo Education Commissioner Pius Osunyikanmi Dies at 55

Dr Pius Osunyikanmi, a former Ondo State Commissioner for Education and former Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, has died at the age of 55 after a prolonged illness. Osunyikanmi reportedly died on Saturday. He was a close ally and political adviser to former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko. He led the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps from August 2013 to August 2023, having been appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan and reappointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari. Political leaders and associates have described his death as a major loss to Ile-Oluji, Ondo State and Nigeria's public service.
