Police Arrest Suspects After Blockade of Peter Obi’s Convoy in Benue
The Benue State Police Command says it has arrested suspects linked to the blockage of Peter Obi’s convoy during his visit to the state on September 8. Commissioner of Police Cletus Nwadiogbu said officers assigned to the visit acted professionally to prevent the situation from escalating into violence, injuries or property damage. He said Obi was later escorted safely to the airport and left the state peacefully. The command said intelligence-led operations are continuing to identify and arrest other people connected with the incident. Those found culpable will be prosecuted in line with the law.
