Gunmen Kill Two, Injure Two in Plateau Community Attack
Gunmen on motorcycles stormed Rim village in Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State, around 10:45 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. They opened fire in several directions, killing two residents and wounding two others. Local vigilantes and villagers fled into the bush under the assailants’ superior firepower. Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement, said the attack threw the community into panic. He urged security agencies to intensify patrols and bring the perpetrators to justice. This incident adds to the recurring insecurity challenges facing Riyom and neighboring areas in Plateau State.
