Gunmen Ambush, Kill Two Amotekun Officers in Akure
Two operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, have been killed after gunmen ambushed them near the Ago-Oyinbo farming area in Ala Daadaa, Akure North Local Government Area. The officers were reportedly attacked as they left their base on August 11. The assailants exchanged gunfire with the operatives, leaving one officer seriously injured and two others dead. Amotekun said it has deployed reinforcements and stepped up patrols, intelligence gathering and security operations in the area. The corps urged residents to remain calm, stay vigilant and share credible information that could help identify the attackers. The agency said it would work with other security agencies to apprehend those responsible, while families of the deceased officers called for due benefits and consideration in future recruitment exercises.
