From Tutorial Overload to Independent Developer: My Learning Journey
I've long wanted to share my experience with overcoming the 'tutorial loop' that many aspiring developers face. Like many, I initially felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information and struggled with building confidence to create my own projects. In March, I decided to try a different approach—project-based learning. This technique involves building projects either with a tutor or independently. I found that working on projects alone, especially when I had to troubleshoot and research on my own, significantly boosted my confidence and skills. One key lesson I learned is that true learning happens when you build unassisted. For example, I recently used a complex third-party package in Flutter without prior experience, simply by applying what I had learned through independent project work. This experience taught me that courage and self-reliance are essential for real growth as a developer.
