JAMB Warns: Avoid ‘Backdoor’ Admissions or Lose Your Spot

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has warned that any admission secured outside its Central Admissions Processing System is invalid. Candidates who accept “backdoor” offers risk forfeiting their status as legitimate students. The National Universities Commission plans to step up monitoring of universities to curb illegal admissions beyond approved capacities. It will also roll out stricter measures to regulate the use of artificial intelligence in schools. Speaking at a recent education summit in Abuja, the JAMB Registrar stressed that only admissions processed through CAPS and backed by an official JAMB admission letter are valid. Institutions offering unofficial slots leave students off the official matriculation list.
