14-Year-Old Girl Shot in Suspected Attack on Farmers at Plateau–Nasarawa Border
A 14-year-old girl was injured when suspected armed herders allegedly opened fire on farmers in Majelisa village, near the Plateau–Nasarawa border, at about 6:30 a.m. on November 5, 2026. Preliminary findings suggest the shooting followed a disagreement over grazing activities. The suspects fled before troops arrived. Troops from Sector 9 of Operation Enduring Peace evacuated the girl to General Hospital in Lafia for treatment. Security personnel have increased patrols in the area, while engagements with community leaders are under way to help identify and locate the suspects.
