Socrates on Wisdom: Why Admitting What You Do Not Know Matters
The Oracle of Delphi called Socrates the wisest man in Athens. He tried to prove it wrong, but concluded that his wisdom came from recognising the limits of his own knowledge. His idea is still relevant when we defend beliefs inherited from family, religion, community or social media without questioning them. Socrates offers three reminders: question your beliefs before challenging others, examine the life you live, and do not let other people do all your thinking.
