Veteran Nigerian rapper Lord of Ajasa, born Olusegun Osaniyi, has announced that he is now a United States citizen. The Yoruba rap pioneer shared his excitement online, posting photos and a video of himself holding his citizenship documents and an American flag after completing the process. He simply wrote, “Thank you America.” Known for his influence on Nigeria’s early-2000s music scene, Lord of Ajasa received congratulatory messages from colleagues including ID Cabasa, 9ice, Mike Ezuruonye and others.
