Passenger Arrested for Killing Motorcyclist During Snatch Attempt in Ogun

A 27-year-old man, Chidi Ebere, has been arrested for fatally stabbing 36-year-old commercial motorcyclist Sunday Ogbu. The incident took place at about 7 a.m. on April 8 in Igbesa, Ogun State, when Ebere, posing as a passenger, attempted to snatch the rider’s motorcycle. A witness raised the alarm after seeing Ebere attack the rider with a knife. Police and bystanders intervened, rescued the victim, and rushed him to a nearby hospital. The doctor on duty later confirmed his death. The Ogun State Police Command recovered the motorcycle and the knife as exhibits. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation and prosecution. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni condemned the violent act and vowed that justice would be served. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the police.
