Lagos Trade Fair Board Addresses ASPMDA Concerns Over Chinese Retail Traders
The Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board says it is working to maintain a fair and lawful business environment for Nigerian and foreign investors at the complex. The board responded after the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association raised concerns about the activities of Chinese retail traders. It said local traders’ concerns about fair competition, market access and regulatory compliance deserved attention. Management said Nigeria welcomes legitimate foreign investment while also protecting micro, small and medium-sized businesses. It urged ASPMDA members and youth representatives to remain calm as discussions continue toward a resolution.
